WHO: Mayor Jim Kenney and the Phillie Phanatic
*WHAT: will join local children affected by childhood cancer and their families for a free day of open play.
WHEN: The event will take place on Monday, Feb. 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mayor Kenney is anticipated to be in attendance from noon to 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: at the Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse, 3500 Reservoir Dr., Philadelphia, PA 19121

*DETAILS: At Play With Purpose, Philadelphia children 10-years-old and younger and their families are invited to explore a variety of activities with Mayor Kenney and the Phillie Phanatic throughout the Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse. Mayor Kenney will participate in a storytime and visit activity stations including dancing, coloring and games. Music and food will also be provided. Play With Purpose is an initiative led by members of the Temple University chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) to support the childhood cancer advocacy nonprofit, With Purpose. Other Temple students and organizations will volunteer to help raise awareness for With Purpose’s mission of providing kids with safe and effective cancer treatments.
